What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy can be described as helping a person with a health condition by utilising activities and interventions in hypnosis. People often describe the feeling of hypnosis as a pleasurable feeling of deep relaxation, however they often also experience deep insights and learnings that help them to manage stress and difficulties. When you experience hypnosis, the therapist provides suggestions and uses interventions. Your heightened awareness helps you to focus in on things you would like to change. You are guided by the therapist through various suggestions, exercises and imagery to help you to feel differently and to lead a healthier, happier life. People may try hypnotherapy because they are feeling “stuck” in patterns of behavior they no longer wish to have.
